Common Questions About Branding

Not always — but in most cases, yes. Your website is built around your visual identity. If the brand isn’t defined first, you end up making design decisions on the fly during the build, and the result is usually inconsistent. Starting with branding gives the website a clear visual language to work from and produces a more cohesive final product. If you already have established branding you’re happy with, we can build directly from that.

We typically present a focused set of directions — not a flood of options — because too many choices makes good decisions harder. We’d rather present two or three strong, well-considered concepts and refine from there than overwhelm you with variations. The goal is to find the right direction quickly and develop it properly.

That’s fine. Branding work doesn’t have to mean starting over. If your logo is solid but the surrounding system — colors, typography, guidelines, assets — is inconsistent or underdeveloped, we can build around what you have. If there are issues with the logo itself (scalability, format, clarity), we’ll flag them honestly and discuss whether refinement makes sense.

Most branding engagements take 2 to 3 weeks, depending on scope and how quickly feedback is provided. Projects that include both branding and a website build are sequenced so the brand is finalized before design begins, which adds time upfront but produces a much stronger end result.

You’ll receive your logo and assets in all the formats you’ll realistically need — SVG and PNG for web use, PDF and EPS for print, and appropriately sized versions for social media profiles and other standard applications. Everything is organized and labeled so you can actually find what you need when you need it.
